You will have  loose stitches using Hook 8,I love it for baby.....when finish the beanie you will feel it ...is nice ,loose and soft for their head.

Pattern

1. Magic Ring ....then  , Make 12 double crochets

2.Make 2 double crochets in the 1st stitch and 1 double crochet in the next stitch...continue all around

3.Repeat round # 2 .( step # 2 )

4 to 7..Make one double crochet on every and all stitches all around .

8. Make only half double crochet on each and every stitch all around .

(Hat measures 4 to 5 inches )

Pattern for The Pom Pom Hats

Materials

Hook # H- 5.0 mm

Yarn # 4 medium weight-100% acrylic

Sizes- 0 to 3 months -chain 19

Size - 3 to 6 months - chain 21

Size - 6 to 12 months -chain 24

Size - 18 to 24 months - chain 27

Round 1

chain 19 , 2 single crochets in 2nd chain from hook , 1 single crochet in all of the next =16 chain 

Working on opposite side of chain , 1 single crochet on each of the next 16 chains.

NOTE: you can place a marker (if you are crocheting in Spiral rounds ) if not just keep crocheting in single rounds.

Round 2

chain 1 , 1st single crochet in the same place you make the chain , 1 single crochet in all around.

Keep crocheting until  HAT  measures  4 inches.
